No. 25 Miami lost to no. 8 Purdue, 79-69, on Sunday in the second round of the Tournament in St. Louis.

While disappointing, we need to step back and reflect on the amazing season the Canes had in the first year of head coach Jai Lucas’ career.

If in November, we told you Miami would hire a rookie head coach and tie the biggest turnaround in college basketball history, would you have believed it?

Coach Lucas and his all new staff first faced the monumental task of quickly replacing the ENTIRE team. All thirteen players!

The new staff had to mold the new team into a “team,” Installing new systems, practice procedures and a winning culture.

No small task.

At the end of the season, the Canes delivered a 19-win turnaround from last year's 7-24 mark, tying a Division I record.

Miami’s 26 victories on the season tied for the fourth-most in school history.

The Hurricanes returned to the NCAA Tournament and posted a victory in the first round.

Let’s not forget.

GO CANES!
