The Canes bounced back in their second game of the ESPN Events Invitational with a convincing 78-65 win against Georgetown on Friday night.

Miami jumped out to a quick early 16-3 lead and didn’t look back.

Georgetown (5-2) shot 35.6% (21 of 59) from the floor. Georgetown shot just 5 of 27 shots in the first half as Miami ran off to a 41-20 advantage at halftime.

The Canes were led again by forward Malik Reneau, scoring 23 points. Tru Washington chipped in 17 points and four steals. Tre Donaldson contributed 13 points and six assists, while C Ernest Udeh returned from injury to grab 11 important rebounds.

Miami travels to Ole Miss on Tuesday to take on the Rebels in the ACC-SEC Challenge. Tip-off is set for 9:00 p.m. ET with coverage on SECN.
