Miami’s 2026 recruiting class is coming down the home stretch.

The class currently stands at 23 verbal commitments, ranked #12

in the nation and #1 in the ACC. And the Canes want more and are not finished.

On Tuesday, news broke that four-star jumbo wide receiver Milan Parris (Stow, OH - Walsh Jesuit) de-committed from Iowa State. Miami has been pushing hard for Parris and this news could indicate the Canes are making real progress here. However, there are several other schools also pursuing Parris.

If Miami is the leader in this recruitment, it then presents another dilemma. The Canes also badly want to flip 5-star local wide receiver Calvin Russell (Miami, FL - Northwestern) from Syracuse. Would Miami take five wide receivers in this cycle? The answer is YES. The departure of three wide receivers (CJ Daniels, Tony Johnson, Keelan Marion) after this season and potential transfers, Miami could face another major overhaul of that room.

There is another possible option. IF, a big if, the Canes are able land both Russell and Parris, they could consider moving Parris to tight end down the road. Parris would need some time in Miami’s strength & conditioning program, but he has the size and the frame to add more mass. Currently, Parris stands at 6’-5.5”/205 with a 6'-9" wing span. And he’s a willing and capable blocker. Add 25-30 pounds and you would have another dynamic weapon for Miami’s future offense.

Just a thought…

GO CANES!
