Miami’s running back room is among the best in the country. The talent and experience is exceptional.

The ROOM…

The Canes are led by Mark Fletcher Jr., with CharMar Brown, Jordan Lyle, Girard Pringle Jr., and Chris Wheatley-Humphrey providing solid depth at a position that’s physically taxing on a player. Joining the room is true freshman Javian Mallory. That's a talent and deep five-back room.

The TARGETS…

With al this talent on the roster this year, it will be a challenge in this new era of football to keep the gang together for the 2027 season. We know Fletcher will graduate after this season. We should expect one or two other backs to transfer. Miami must reload with multiple blue chip prospects in the 2027 recruiting class.

At the top of Miami’s board is Myson Johnson-Cook, Ty Keys, Elijah Kimble, Tyson Robinson, Noah Roberts, and Brayden Tyson.

Johnson-Cook is already projected to land in Coral Gables. If so, who will take the second slot? At this time, however, it appears to be either Keys or Kimble. Let’s put all three targets UNDER the SCOPE.

Myson Johnson-Cook

Summary: Multi-sport athlete. Brings elite size and speed combination. Versatile, could play running back or linebacker. In 2025, rushed  for 1,341 yards (10.6 YPC) and 20 TD. Also caught 3 passes for 45 yards. In 2024: 911 yards rushing, 14 TDs (10.4 YPC); 4 pass receptions, 27 yards, 1 TD.

Ty Keys

BOTTOM LINE:

Miami is well positioned with all three targets. We should have a good idea after spring practice and official visits of where Miami stands.
