Miami landed the commitment of former NC State transfer catcher Alex Sosa on Friday.

At 6’-1”/195, Alex is the ninth-best player in the transfer portal and the No. 1-ranked catcher, according to 64Analytics.

In 2024, Alex slashed .291/.408/.534 in 52 games as a sophomore for the Wolfpack. He hit 16 doubles and 10 home runs with 40 RBIs.

Originally from Melbourne, FL - Viera, Alex is the fifth Miami addition from the transfer portal tis off-season. He joins former FIU first baseman Brylan West and former USC Upstate infielder Vance Sheahan as projected starters in 2026.
