Miami will welcome high school committed prospects on Wednesday to the 2026 recruiting class.

Here’s the rundown by position as they sign, as of 3:15 p.m. ET.

QUARTERBACK:

Dereon Coleman

Hometown: Orlando, FL School: Jones

Status: SIGNED | Top Tier: Miami

Summary: In 2023, 116 of 183 passes (63.4%) for 2,236 yards with 16 TD and 6 INT. | 247 yards and 4 TD on the ground.

Quick-twitched passer with a live arm. Lacks the desired measurables, but can generate plenty of velocity with a lighting-quick release. Got varsity snaps as an eighth grader, but really made a name for himself as a sophomore in one of Florida’s higher classifications. Likes to pick defenses apart from the pocket and can flick the ball into the deeper third with ease. Tends to serve up a fastball, but in-person evaluations suggest that he can use touch on occasion to drop balls over coverage. Explosive lower half allows him to get away from pressure, but needs to improve internal clock and add some body armor. Should be viewed as one of the polarizing signal callers in the 2026 cycle given the combination of high-powered arm and suboptimal frame. Likely to find most success on Saturdays in an up-tempo spread attack.

Powerful and sturdy with ready-to-play mass. Might not be the tallest or longest pass catcher, but is reliable with his hands as he can hold on in traffic and secure off-target throws with his balance. Constantly heats up after the catch as he sheds tackles and runs through contact. Almost always competing and fighting for extra yardage. Not a track star, but will make dynamic movements in pads and has excellent play speed as he can pull away from defenders and race down the sidelines. Must continue to keep honing his craft, but the arrow is clearly pointing up as he opened senior campaign up in style (8 total touchdowns in first 5 games) following an impressive spring on the 7v7 circuit. Projects as a potential impact player for a College Football Playoff contender that can align inside or outside and settle in as a go-to option in a balanced attack with his strength and athleticism

Imposing outside receiver with all the physical tools to bake into a touchdown machine on Saturdays and then potentially Sundays. Stands tall at over 6-foot-5 and owns one of the best size-speed combinations in the class as he has gone 4.54 on the lasers in the 40-yard dash at close to 200 pounds. Establishes leverage with both his acceleration and power as he will go through or around defensive backs while charging up or across the field. Offers up a monster catch radius not only with his length, but also his jumps and coordination as he can turn 50-50 balls into easy rebounds. Treats blocking like its a necessity and will drive defenders into the turf as he works to open up run lanes for teammates. Only caught 28 passes as a junior, but averaged 21.3 yards per reception and flipped the switch early on in senior season while matched up against future Power Four corners. Must keep perfecting his craft and expanding the route tree, but is the type of hulking X that can command targets in any system after a short developmental period.

Not a big receiver at a shade under 5-foot-11 but has a strong upper body and can easily beat press coverage. Excellent route runner and looks like a college player in ability to turn a defender and get separation. Extremely quick and explosive off the line with downfield speed to separate. Runs well after the catch and shows the ability to make multiple defenders miss in the open field. Wins 50-50 and contested catches and shows advanced ball awareness. Explodes getting in and out of breaks and should offer value as a punt and kick returner as well. Highly instinctive football player combining polish and explosive big-play ability. A fun prospect to track over the coming years and potentially possesses tools to play on Sundays.

Estimated to hover around 6-foot-5, 255 pounds with an 82-inch wingspan and above-the-rim athleticism that translates from the court to the field. Played his first season of high school football as a junior, working at WR/TE and defensive end for Wheaton (Ill.) St. Francis. Profiles as an in-line Y tight end at the next level who can use his physicality at the LOS to create running lanes and his frame to box out defenders at the first two levels. Has shown the ability to make plays at the catch point and excels at tracking the football in crowded conditions. Played through a shoulder injury and underwent surgery following his first season of football, should be viewed as a high-upside attached tight end who could blossom into a key piece for a College Football Playoff contender.

Briggs is a jumbo receiver who will move to tight end in college. He's one of the most versatile players in the region and over the last three years, has taken snaps at receiver, tight end, running back, quarterback, linebacker, safety and edge. Multi-sport background as well who does the jumps and short sprints in track and is a two-time all-league selection in basketball. Lean 6-foot-4 frame and will need to add some significant bulk to factor in the run game but should be a brutal matchup for opposing linebackers and safeties in the passing game. Natural with his hands and flashes high level body control. Fluid route runner who can turn a defender around and runs really well after the catch. Shows some wiggle in the open field and is tough to bring down. Had a 99 yard touchdown as a junior where he broke multiple tackles on the play and then outran the secondary. Tracks the football well down the field and has excellent hand-eye coordination. At this point, Briggs is much more advanced as a pass catcher but shows his toughness on the defensive end and that should translate to him developing in to a solid blocker as he puts on the needed size to become a more well rounded tight end.

Jumbo offensive lineman with a nasty field demeanor that’s built for a gap scheme as he can clear space like a true road grader. Tips the scales at just over 6-foot-5, 330 pounds and is equipped with extraordinary length. Flashes rare athletic ability for someone of his stature as he can shoot laterally and get to his spots both on front-side blocks and back-side cutoffs.Constantly looking to put defenders in the turf and has driven assignments off the screen multiple times on Friday nights. Not a ton of experience in pass protection given high school offense, but can maul in tight quarters while engaging multiple targets. On the younger side and is likely going to need to trim down a bit once enrolled at the college of his choice as weight management and conditioning will be key.Worth a look on the corner, but the ceiling is likely highest on the interior at one of the guard spots. Projects as a potential multi-year starter at the Power Four level with NFL upside given how he moves and smashes with his mass.

Overwhelms high school defenders with size and strength. At minimum casts a large shadow on the outside as a pass protector, but will raise the ceiling with continued technical progression and enhanced foot quickness. Excellent drive-blocking ability. Speed rusher that can tax the corner with his burst, bend and energy. Likely to offer some on and off-ball flex as he was initially viewed as more of a pure linebacker projection before he got more and more looks as a 5-technique during senior campaign. Launches out of both a two and three-point stance and will quickly overwhelm tackles with his sudden movements. Likes to finish with violence and will get into a quarterback’s head with his rare gap-closing burst as he finds paths to attack snap after snap. Effective on the blitz as he takes efficient angles through traffic and has also found success when asked to spy with his lateral range. On the lighter side now, but has still flashed the ability to win with some power as he gets into obstacles and slides off them. Might need a developmental semester to get the body right, but could get on the field early as a situational defender with his juice. Projects as a possible impact player at the Power Four level with his unique profile.

Disruptive edge defender with good bulk that has displayed the ability to win with both speed and power while working in a four-man front for one of the Sunshine State’s top talent-producing programs. Constantly challenges protection with his get-off, heavy hands and whatever-it-takes energy as he builds momentum and keeps the legs pumping. Violent as a finisher and has a knack of creating negative plays as he targets the football in the pocket (forced 6 fumbles in a 21-game stretch across junior and senior seasons). Will squeeze lanes as a run defender and has displayed the desired range in pursuit as he can efficiently change directions and make stops outside of the hashes. Believed to be under 6-foot-3, but has some verified length and should eventually be able to carry 255 pounds or more as he’s young for grade. Athletic enough in theory to drop into space, but has gotten more looks in a three-point stance than a two-point stance on the corner. Projects as a potential difference-maker for a College Football Playoff contender that can thrive in an aggressive, up-field scheme.

Violent and compact edge defender with jarring production on Friday nights that can rush, crush and close. Falls below usual height standards, but has surprising length in the arms and outstanding power in the lower half. Launches out of his stance with an explosive first step and initiates contact with lead hands. Impressive at reading a tackle's weight and finding their weakness. Can dip and twist while turning the corner, building momentum in the process with his body control and core balance. Naturally low to the ground, which in turn allows him to dart inside and wreck a run design. Lack of physical traits reduces margin for error, but lunch-pail effort results in plenty of hustle stops as he’s quick to retrace and redirect. Projects as a potential impact rotational rusher at the Power Four level that can win with speed and force.

Big-framed defensive lineman who's physically gifted and displays promising movement ability relative to size. Owns the bulking capacity to get huge in a college S&C program if desired. Experience aligned from the edge and inside, predominantly in a four-man front. Production significantly increased from sophomore to junior year, completed with high-volume TFL numbers and nearly double-digit sacks. Displays above average pursuit athleticism; testing data reflects that. Raw as a pass rusher and will need to expand move set, but showed glimpses of counter nuance in 2024. Can get more consistent with hands, but flashes knock-back power, especially in the reps involving sudden get-off. Plays upright at times. Large press-man corner that can stay on top of routes and break on the football with his forward drive and reaction time. Maintains leverages with an efficient backpedal and is quick to pivot. Will battle with his hands and steer assignments towards the sidelines. Understands how to turn and locate the football, which leads to takeaways or pass break ups in the deeper parts of the field. Seems to always play with a chip on his shoulder and that constantly shows up in run support as he battles through blocks on the perimeter and fights to keep containment. Might not have elite recovery speed at this stage, but can cover ground and lean on safeties for help as routes progress. Could get faster once lifting and training in college. Must avoid setbacks, but should be viewed as a play-making coverage defender that can swallow up larger Power Four targets with his reach and technique. Likely to thrive in a boundary role in a man-heavy system with his instincts, physicality and overall confidence.

Owns valuable experience in man and zone coverage. Sticky at the first two levels with his pedal and aggressive hands. Understands how to pass off assignments with his route recognition and can generate takeaways with his eyes as he leaps in front of the football. Might be on the leaner side now, but launches himself as a tackler and will play through blocks on screens and swings. Has also found success on delayed blitz calls. Should be viewed as a hard-nosed football player that can offer alignment flex in the secondary for a College Football Playoff hopeful. Likely to undergo a physical transformation in the coming years as he will enroll well before his 18th birthday, but could push for playing time right away with his play-making tendencies.

Versatile secondary defender last verified hovering around 5-foot-11, 170 pounds with a plus-wingspan and adequate arm length. Owns experience playing field and boundary corner along with occasional reps at safety, at this stage of the evaluation process likely profiles to cornerback but could reasonably find a long-term home at all five spots in the defensive backfield. Dynamic playmaker with the ball in his hands in all three phases, totaling five interceptions and seven receiving touchdowns to go along with valuable return game experience. Limited third-party verified combine testing data or multi-sport athletic markers aside from a 12.16 100m personal best from his freshman year. Should be viewed as a high-floor coverage ace with limited verified athletic context ahead of his junior season.

Imposing defensive back with impressive play speed and a projectable frame that fits the mold of a modern boundary safety, but might also be worth a look at cornerback. Turned heads as a junior during practices for the Under Armour All-America Game as he found success shadowing blue-chip pass catchers in a best-on-best setting. Quick to read and diagnose as he moves on his toes and bolts forward with conviction. Can get caught over-running lanes, but seeks contact and will play through obstacles to strike ball carriers. Frequently closes gaps and makes effort-based stops in pursuit as he has the range to get from hash to hash in the snap of a finger. Not a ton of takeaways on the prep resume, but came down with multiple acrobatic interceptions on the off-season event circuit and has showcased impressive ball skills while doubling as a wide receiver. Should be viewed as a turbo-charged defensive chess piece that can fit into a variety of different schemes and roles depending on what’s needed and how the body fills out.
