It’s been busy in Coral Gables over the last few days. It continued on Monday when former Ohio State defensive tackle Jarquez Carter announced he is transferring to Miami. He is Miami’s fourth transfer in their 2026 class.
Jarquez is a rising sophomore with three years of eligibility remaining. As a true freshman, he appeared in seven games and took 51 snaps resulting in two tackles for the Buckeyes.
A Florida native, Jarquez is very young (still 18 yrs old) and needs development time but brings quickness, power and energy to the interior of Miami’s line. He projects as a 3-technique in a 4-3 front
At 6’-1”/288, Jarquez is expected to provide immediate depth and compete for a rotation spot in 2026. He joins Ahmad Moten, Justin Scott, Armondo Blount and true freshman Keshawn Stancil on Miami’s interior line.
Welcome to the U, Jarquez! Welcome to the family
GO CANES!
