The NCAA Division I Cabinet approved a new five-year, age-based eligibility model on Tuesday. College athletes will now be given five years of eligibility over five seasons. The five year clock begins upon initial full-time enrollment in college or at the beginning of the academic year following their 19th birthday, whichever occurs first. The new eligibility model will eliminate red shirts and medical waivers. GO CANES!

On Friday, former South Carolina third baseman Dawson Harman announced he is transferring to Miami. Dawson hit .227 with five home runs, 21 RBIs, eight doubles, one triple, and two stolen bases with a .779 OPS in 40 starts this past season.
