After another dominating victory on Saturday, Miami moved up the AP rankings from #15 to #14. Just enough to still keep the Canes out of the CFP discussion.

It’s become very clear the AP voters don’t think much of the ACC and Big-12. Why?

The SEC and B1G own the media. ESPN and CBS/Fox promote their products over all others. There’s very little true journalism in college athletics. It’s called media bias. It’s called network power and influence.

For example....Vanderbilt.

Vanderbilt is the Cinderella of the SEC media this season. The Commodores share the same record as Miami (8-2). However, the narrative being pushed by ESPN and CBS is that Miami is the “thugs” and “convicts” of college football. Both ESPN and CBS/Fox have promoted this narrative to keep their conferences products "top of mind" with the public. Vanderbilt didn’t even play this week and rose in the AP. Miami dominated for the second week in a row and advances just one spot. Compare Miami and Vanderbilt records. By all accepted football metrics, Miami is the superior team. But the controlled and manipulated media has Vanderbilt ranked #12 (on the CFP bubble) while Miami sits on the outside looking in at #14.

If Miami was in the B1G or SEC, they would be a shoe-in for a CFP berth. Meanwhile, Alabama will get a CFP berth despite an 8-2 record and two really “embarrassing” losses, one of which was to an ACC team..

Disgusting!

Is it time for the ACC, Big 12, American and Mountain West to breakaway from the NCAA and form a new association? Rumors are spreading about a new 60-70 college athletic association forming in the future.

Smoke? Or is there a fire?

GO CANES!
