Just about every college sports fan in America agrees that college athletics is broken.

IF I was commissioner, how would I FIX all the problems surrounding the NCAA?

So far, I, as commissioner, have reorganized college athletics into eight conferences, each with ten schools. Today, we continue our series with a final view of the new NCAA Division I, a new scheduling and playoff model and more.

SCHEDULING MODEL:

The season will consist of 14 weeks, with each school having two bye weeks. . All games will be against other Division I schools. No more cupcakes.

Every school will play a nine-game division schedule with three non-division games, thus allowing key match-ups that drive viewership. Think Miami vs Notre Dame.

NATIONAL PLAYOFF:

The national playoff will consist of the eight division champions in a seven game system. No automatic qualifiers! No byes! No more poll pollution! Earn the right, on the field, to compete for the championship!

BOTTOM LINE:

Change occurs only when the pain to stay the same exceeds the pain to change.

There you have it.

Championships earned on the field of play. No more biased polls, secret selection committees, automatic qualifiers, no playoff byes, no more conference in-fighting and too much network power.

Return the game to the fans.

GO CANES!
